How to Host a Donation Drive
Get involved without ever leaving your desk! Consider hosting a donation drive! You have an amazing gift even if you can't make a huge monetary donation or commit to a long-term volunteer project. Organizing a donation drive is a rewarding way to get your family, friends, co-workers, church, or school involved in helping community residents in crisis! Choose one of the following themes and you have all you need to make a difference! Once you have chosen a drive and the dates you will organize it, please call the Shelter for collateral marketing materials for the RSOS and help arrange for the much appreciated pick up or delivery of your donation.
Cooking up Success Drive
The RSOS operates a fully-functioning commercial kitchen 365 days a year. This kitchen allows us to offer nutritious meals 3 times a day to help residential clients reallocate their income to housing. In the donation drive, put together a "kitchen kit" from the following items:
-Paper plates
-Paper napkins
-Paper plates/Styrofoam plates
-Large pots or pans
-Disposable serving containers (aluminum or plastic)
-Large mixing spoons
-Pot holders
-Cutting boards
-5qt. Stew pots with handles
-Butcher knives
Evening Meals
The RSOS depends on over 40 different church, civic, and philanthropic organizations to provide and serve our evening meal. This effort could not be accomplished without volunteers like you. If you are interested in helping us fill our opening evenings, or becoming a regular monthly serving organization, please contact Darryl Mallett at (903) 792-7024.
